I am 70 and drawing Socil Scurity. I stared about 3 mnths prior to turning 66. My wife is 64 and not drawing.
can she apply and draw from my Social Security, while leting hers grow until 70?
Hi,
Yes, she can, but she must wait until age 66 (i.e. her full retirement age) to file a restricted application for spousal benefits only. The reason that this option is still available to her is because she was born prior to January 2 1954, and is thus not affected by the new deeming law passed by Congress last year (https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/deemedfaq.html).
Best, Jerry
