I am 79, married, retired, have received regular SS under my own name/ earnings since 2005. We just found out during tax prep that my SS benefit (which went entirely toward Medicare) was suspended as of December 2020. Can you explain?
Hi. I'm sorry, but no. One thing that can cause a person's benefit payments to be suspended is if the post office returns mail directed to the address that Social Security has in their files. Social Security benefits can be suspended for many different reasons, though, so the only way to find out why your payments have been suspended is to call Social Security.
