Do I Have To File For My Social Security Early If I'm Receiving Welfare?

I want to continue to work and get my full benfits when I turn 66. they/welfare/ are saying that I have to take partial benfits now and I cant wait until my full retirement age.is this legal I don't want to take the money I want to wait until im 66. help me im scared.

Hi,

I wish I could help you, but my expertise is limited to Social Security benefits only. You aren't required to apply for Social Security benefits, but if you don't do so it's possible that whatever type of welfare benefits you receive will stop. I don't know what type of welfare benefits you receive, but as a condition for receiving most types of welfare you are required to file for any other types of benefits for which you can qualify.

Best, Jerry
