What happens at Full Retirement Age (FRA)

If you are on SSDI and reach your FRA, I understand that your SSDI benefits will automatically convert to Retirement Benefits.

What is the case when someone is on concurrent benefits both SSDI (on their own work record) and also on Childhood Disability Benefits (CDB) when they reach their FRA?

Hi. The person's Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits would convert to regular Social Security retirement benefits when they reach full retirement age (FRA), and their Childhood Disability Benefits (CDB) would remain unchanged. CDB benefits are either auxiliary or survivor benefits depending on whether the parent on whose account the benefits are paid is living or deceased. Reaching FRA has no effect a person's CDB benefits.
