What is the best way to maximize our social security please? My husband and I turn 62 this October, his Birthday is Oct 4 and mine is October 10. We have no savings and currently both unemployed. Both of us have worked more than 30 years, his social security benefit would be higher than mine. I worked under the German system for 18 years, a foreign country, so will get a pension from that, and have more than 40 quarters under the U.S. social security.
