Can I stop by Social Security and go back to work full-time
Hi,
That depends on the type of benefits you receive and your age. If you're receiving disability benefits then your benefits will terminate if you work and earn too much for a long enough period of time (https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10095.pdf). If you receive retirement benefits and you are between ages 66 & 70, you could voluntarily suspend your benefits (https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/suspend.html). And, if you receive retirement or survivor benefits and you are under full retirement age, then your benefits could be involuntarily suspended if you earn more than the amount allowed under Social Security's earnings test (https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/whileworking2.html).
I would suggest contacting Social Security to determine how your benefits would be affected by a return to work.
Best, Jerry
