Is Social Security Allowed To Withhold My Back Pay?
I recently was approved for ssdi benefits but was receiving ssi payments. They say they are witholding my benefits from feb. 2022 until apr. 2023, can they do that?

I've received S. S. I. benefits since 2004,my husband and I have been married since 2002. In the state of TN. I am aware that in that state there is no such thing as "legally separated". This state considers it either married or divorced. No mediums on anything. we separated in June of 2013... of course my retroactive s. s. I. 1st check saported him & social security knew that, only allowing him (Or us) to make no more than $700 more per month.. my husband received his 3 yr. retro SSI in 3/2023.. Am I entitled to any of that money???
Hello I receive ssi and I feel really not getting enough can you help me I also should be getting Medicare but I get only medical
Hi, I began receiving SSI at age 20. My father just retired, and my parents want me to look into receiving the DAC benefit as they will not be able to afford to help me pay for things any longer now that my Dad is retired. My mum will be retiring in four years, and they worry that I won't have enough money to live off of, as they've always supplemented my SSI because I cannot hold a job, but didn't qualify for SSDI.
Im on supplemental security income and I won $2000 at casino, whats going to happen to my benefits & what should I do?
Hi. You're required to report your winnings to Social Security, so you should do so ASAP. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is needs based, so any type of income you receive could reduce your SSI payment rate for at least one month. And, there is also a $2,000 asset limit for SSI eligibility, so your winnings could affect your eligibility for SSI payments as long as your countable assets exceed the $2,000 limit.
SSI back payment upon the successful appellate decision in my case I was to receive three years of back payments. I only got about ten months of back payments. I was given $5200.00 some odd dollars at the time I first applied the three years prior by SSA for reasons unaccounted for by SSA. Well I didn't spend any of that money due to not wanting to be responsible for over payment penalties. At the completion of appeal hearing I was penalized for not spending the unaccounted funds given to me by SSA.
I recieve ssi and me and my husband seperated.i was stuck in a lease and rent was $336 more then my ssi benefit.so my step mom has been helping me so me my daughter n grandson wouldn't end up in the street.will I lose my ssi?
My fiancé and I married recently 12/22/22. My daughter, unrelated to him, has been granted ssi for her profound autism disability since 2012 and currently resides in Residential private school. She is 13. My new husband and I are filing separate this tax season and for future taxes and we share no bank accounts, any accounts, homes, bills, and my daughter is my sole and ultimate responsibility not his. His mail goes here and we do live together , but he travels for work frequently and again the bills of the house and the house alone is under my name.
