Can I Take My Husband's SS And Cancel My Disability Claim?

I recently applied for SSDI. Ity would be 1024.00 a month. Which isn't a lot, but my children are there for me. They kind of pushed me into that direction due to I have emphysema and mvp. However, even though it's not curable I do feel I can get better. I thought I will be this be cured and call the said and say give it to someone who needs it. I recently found out that i could receive 900 a month from my husbands SSI. Could I take that and cancel the disability all the way till I reach 67, where my retirement is 1,074.00?

If I apply for retirement when reached age 62, would my disability payment will be reduced if approved?

Hi. Your Social Security disability (SSDI) benefit rate won't be reduced as long as your initial month of SSDI entitlement is the same as or earlier than your first month of retirement benefit entitlement.

Is There Anything I Can Do To Get Back The SNAP Benefits I Lost?

I previously suspended Social Security retirement benefits to accrue delayed retirement credits. I turned 70 in January 2022. I expected my benefits to resume on my normal payment date, the third Wednesday of February, the 16th. Instead, the first payment was deposited into my checking account on February 1.

During the years of suspended benefits, I qualified for and received SNAP benefits. As expected, I received 30-day notice of SNAP termination after Social Security benefits restarted. I lost a month of SNAP benefits, worth $345, due to the early Social Security . . . Read More

What Happens Now That My Earnings Have Dropped?

I completed my 9 month trail period. I entered my
Epe, I did sga for one month.I went into a 3 month grace period, and benefits were suspended, now I am under sga. What happens next.

Hi. If you're still within 36 months of the end of your trial work period (TWP) then it sounds like you should be able to get your benefits reinstated. You'll need to contact Social Security, and they'll probably require you to submit proof of your monthly earnings.

If I Marry The Man I've Been Dating Would We Still Be Able To Claim Divorced Spousal And Survivor Benefits On Our Previous Spouses' Records?

I’m almost 60 and dating a 63 year old man. We’re both divorced and were each married to other people for 20+ years. We would like to access divorced spousal benefits and would we also be able to claim widow(er) benefits if we got married now? And when and how should we access the divorced spousal benefits?

Hi. You can't qualify for divorced spousal benefits on a living ex-spouse's account if you've remarried, regardless of at what age you remarry. However, since you're both at least age 60, you could still qualify for survivor benefits on the account of a . . . Read More

Why Is My Part B Medicare Premium Higher Than My Husband's?

My husband and I file a joint return. His part B payment is $366.10, and mine is $544.30. Why the discrepancy? My check decreased by $103. Per month ,and his went down $23. Thank you.

Hi. I can't explain the discrepancy in your premium rates. It's possible that an error was made, so you may want to either call Social Security for an explanation or request an appeal: https://www.hhs.gov/about/agencies/omha/the-appeals-process/part-b-premi...,

Do I Need To Turn In My Self-Employment Expenses To Social Security Every Month?

I started Doir Dash and I am on SSDI. Do I turn in my expenses for self employment with the amount I make every minth to SSA?
How do I turn in hours worked?

Hi. Anyone who's receiving Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits needs to report to Social Security if they start working. When you report your work to Social Security, they will likely ask you to complete a form SSA-820 (https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-820.pdf). That form has a question where you can list your monthly hours of work and . . . Read More

Why Were My Benefits Suspended?

My social security was suspended this month and I haven't got a letter yet saying why

Hi. The only other way to find out why your benefits have been suspended is to call Social Security at 800-772-1213 for an explanation. They are the only people who have access to your records.
