Can I Receive A Spousal Benefit Now?

I am 60 and receive SSI. My x husband (we were married 20 years) is 64 and still working. Can I receive spousal ss now? Can I received both because I am disabled?

Hi,

No, unless you have an eligible child in your care you must be at least age 62 in order to potentially qualify for divorced spousal benefits. And, if you are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), your SSI payments will likely be offset roughly dollar for dollar by your divorced spousal benefit.
