Can You File For Social Security Disability If You Already Receive Early Social Security Benefits?

Can you file for social security disability if your already receiving an early social security benefit.

Hi. Yes. As long as it would be possible for you to qualify for Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits prior to your full retirement age (FRA), you can apply for SSDI benefits. However, if you do qualify for SSDI benefits you can't be paid both SSDI and regular Social Security retirement benefits at the same time. You can only be paid up to the higher of the 2 benefit rates.
