Hi. You don't specify what type of disability benefits you receive, so it's hard for me to give you any advice. If you receive Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits, those benefits are calculated based on your earnings history. Aside from cost of living (COLA) increases, the only way to increase an SSDI benefit rate is by working and replacing the one of the earnings years that are currently being used to calculate the SSDI amount with a higher year of earnings.
But, if you're receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, those benefits are limited based on the law. The maximum amount that a person can be paid per month in federal SSI benefits in 2022 is $841. If you're receiving less than that amount and if your circumstances have changed, then you should call Social Security to see if you could be eligible for a higher amount.
Best, Jerry
