I have been on SSD since 2007. I am disabled due to BiPolar and I am legally blind. My earned income threshold is 2110. If I make more than that consistantly, will my SSD stop or will I receive reduced benefits?
Hi,
Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits are an either/or proposition. By that I mean that you either qualify for payments, or you don't. Therefore, if you've completed your 9 month trial work period and If your earnings exceed the amount considered to be substantial gainful activity (SGA) for blind individuals, then your benefits will stop.
For more information about receiving SSDI while working, refer to the following Social Security publication: https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10095.pdf.
Best, Jerry
