I am currently on SSDI and will no longer receive children's benefits when my youngest turns 18. I am struggling financially as it is. I would like to work part time to supplement my income but have heard horror stories about people who trusted that you can work part time and not lose your benefits and insurance, only to find they are told that they can work when up for review. I want to work but I don't want to lose my benefits permanently.

Hi. Working won't cause your Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits to stop as long as you don't earn more than the amount that Social Security calls substantial gainful activity (SGA). The current (i.e. 2022) monthly SGA amount for non-blind individuals is $1350.
