Hi, I like millions have paid into social security my entire career, I am 50 yrs old and my daughter (22) has contracted M.S it is progressively getting worse, the medicine (tecfedera) is close to 45,000 a year, she is no longer able to work and has filed social security only to be turned down, is there a way I can continue to pay in yet let her start receiving my benefits, or is she eligible and there pulling the wool over our eyes Thanks, Chris
Chris, do you mean she was denied Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) based on her record? You can always try again, especially if her condition worsens. There is also Supplemental Security Income (SSI). See here for more on these two programs. She might be determined to be eligible to receive benefits based on a parent's record, but only if she became permanently disabled before age 22. Our software can account for disabled adult child benefits based on your or your spouse's record or SSDI benefits based on her record. Thanks, John
