Is A Person Still Deemed Disabled After They Reach FRA?

Hello,
I am close to 60 years old and currently receive social security disability benefits. I was born in 1959 and noted my full retirement age is 66 and 10 months. At full retirement age you stated disability benefits are classified as 'regular retirement'. If this is true, is a person still deemed 'disabled' and can they go back to work in limited amounts or earn additional income that would otherwise be penalized under the SSDI criteria?

Hi,

No, Social Security doesn't differentiate between disabled and non-disabled recipients after they've attained full retirement age (FRA). There are no limits on how much a person can earn and still receive all of their Social Security benefits once they reach FRA.

Best, Jerry
