What Can I Do To Get My Medicare Premium Rate Corrected?

I am retiring in August 2021 (next month). I applied for Medicare and was told I would be subject to IRMAA. On June 15 I filed a form SSA-44 with a copy of my 2020 tax return which would not be subject to IRMAA. I keep getting letters that they are going to charge me this. I called SSA and got the name and extension of the person handling my SSA-44. However I cannot get in touch with her. I leave voicemail with my number but she doesn't call back. I spoke to someone else there and they said they could send her an email requesting that she call me.

Will My Daughter Be Required To Enroll In Medicare When She's First Eligible?

Hi Larry,

Our disabled adult child (DAC) started collecting SSDI at age 34. She is currently receiving Medicaid, which allows her to attend a special needs program under a Medicaid waiver. She will be eligible for Medicare after being on SSDI for two years (next year at age 36). We don't want to jeopardize the benefits she's receiving under the Medicaid waiver, so we're hesitant to put her on Medicare at that time. Is there a timeframe around her 36th birthday where she is required to enroll in Medicare, or can she enroll in it when she is older without penalty?

If I Sign Up For Medicare Now Will I Be Billed Until I Apply For My Social Security Benefits?

I am retired from federal service and plan on taking social security at age 66 and 4 months. I am currently 65. I have a federal health plan now. I think I must apply for Medicare within 3 months. If I take social security at 66 and 4 Months, will I be billed for Medicare prior to that date ? If I hold off applying for Medicare until I take social security, will I incur a penalty fee ?

How Can I Get My Medicare Part B Coverage Date Corrected?

Trying to enroll in Medicare and Part B says starting date is July 2022 . It should be July 2021. It must of been a typo I do we get this corrected?

Hi. You can only enroll in Part B of Medicare during an enrollment period. Your initial enrollment period (IEP) starts 3 months prior to the month you reach age 65, and ends with the 3rd month after you reach age 65. If you're not in your IEP, then you can only enroll for Part B in a special enrollment period (SEP) or a general enrollment period (GEP).
