Should I Be Able To Get A Refund If I Overpaid Part B Medicare Premiums?

My question is related to IRMAA. I retired at the end of Dec 2019. Prior to my retirement I was paying a considerable premium for Part B Medicare which is taken out of my social security. I had no idea at the time I retired what my retirement annuity would be but I knew my income would be considerably less. Since I didn't know what my total income for 2020 would be I decided to wait until my 2020 income tax was completed to file an SSA-44. After my taxes were complete, based on SSA info, I very much overpaid for all of 2020 and so far in 2021.

Can I Change The Start Date Of My Part B Medicare Coverage?

I am 66 and still working. I recently sent in my paperwork that last day of services will be
June 30, 2021. I would start receiving Medicare part B, July 1st. If I wanted to extend working through July 31, 2021 instead of Jun30, and start part B on August 1st would this be possible without consequences? How do I make this happen. Thank you

Can I Keep My Private Medical Provider When I Turn 62?

Hi Larry,
Thank you....
I am on Permanent Disability now (SSDI),
I will be turning 62 next April of 2022...
I read up on Social Security literatures and also was ably to access the “Calculator” for future amounts and age breakdown....
So as of right now, social security is DEDUCTED $140.00 monthly and additional 20.00 for Kaiser Permanente Hospital, which has been my Medical provider for decades even when I was still employed at Bank of America....

Should I Pay My Medicare Premium In Advance Even If It Will Later Be Withheld From My Benefit Payment?

Hi Larry,
I have a similar question to one Jerry posed to you a couple of years ago regarding potential overpayment of Medicare premium when you go on Medicare long before receiving your SSA benefit. In my case, however, my quarterly Meficare payment is due April 25 (for months May-July) and I will begin receiving SSA at end of May (due to late April birthday), so I would presumably be overpaying 3 months of Medicare premiums (rather than just one in Jerry's case).

What Do I Do?

I am 62 on SSD, after 2 years I was able to get Medicare Part A. I did not sign up for Plan B because my husband has insurance via.his employer. He lost his job, so lost our insurance. I was able to sign him up for Plan B with plan G insurance. I am being told that I have to have Plan B to get additional insurance. Trying to apply for that I am getting kicked out cause I'm only 62... what do I do?

How Can I Get A Refund Of The Excess Medicare Premiums My Deceased Father Paid?

My father paid his 2nd quarter Medicare premium for 2020 but passed away in April 2020, so he had an amount due as a refund. I filed the correct paperwork in Sept 2020 with his local SS office and found out a refund was due for $288. SS says I have to contact Medicare and Medicare says I have to call SS. After calling SS, it turns out my dad filed for Medicare under my mother's name but he paid his own premiums (she is deceased). How do I go about collecting the refund that is due his estate?
