What Do I Need To Do To Get My Disability Benefits Back?

I am on Social security disabilty n they reduce my payment because they receive a pension. I dont receive a pension at all. What should i do to get my disability back.

Hi. If Social Security just recently changed or suspended your payment, then you should be able to file an appeal. Appeal requests must normally be filed within 60 days of the action you are appealing. The first step of appeal is called reconsideration, and the form you use to request reconsideration is an SSA-561. Here is a link to the form: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-561-u2.pdf.

However, I really don't have enough information about your situation to know whether or not filing an appeal is necessary or desirable. Getting a determination on an appeal request can take a lengthy amount of time, so you may first want to call Social Security at 800-772-1213 to clarify more specifically why your benefits were changed.

Best, Jerry
