Is What Social Security Told Me Correct?

My spouse filed for her retirement benefit in her full retirement month when she turned 66. Neither of us have been married before and neither have any children. We are married beyond 10 years. I turned 66 my full retirement age a few months after she did and I filed a restricted application for a spousal benefit only with the plan to let my benefit grow to age 70 and file on my own record and receive the max at 70. We were both born before 1954.

Will I Be Eligible To Receive My Social Security Benefits If I'm Living In India?

Dear Larry,
I am an Indian citizen, living and working in US on Green Card since 12 years. I have completed >40 credit. I want to go back to India now.
Will I be eligible for receiving social security benefits while staying in India once I turn 65? If so, what are the paperwork that I need to do before leaving the country?
Thanks,
Best, Mayank

Will My Grandmother Get A Stimulus Payment?

My question is my grandmother is currently living in a nursing home and I had her social security and VA benefits go to them because I was unaware there was a deadline to pay them for her stay by a certain date...anywho I want to know if she will get the stimulus pay and what should be done. I have guardianship over my grandmother as she has chronic Alzheimer's and dementia. Thank you concerned

What Happens When I Turn 62?

Hi Larry,
I just turned 60. I've been on a combination of SSDI/SSI for a long time due to disability. I get $275 SSI because my $679 SSDI payment alone is below the limit. I also get Medicare AND Medi-Cal (I'm in California). What happens when I turn 62? What about when I reach full retirement age? What if I got married or went into a domestic partnership?

Will We Ever Get The Stimulus Checks?

My husband and I filed a joint return for 2018. We both get SS. We also used IRA monies tha year, but were able to deduct that from Federal Income tax’s due to medical expenses. So, we neither owed money to the IRS, nor got a refund. Will we ever get the stimulus checks? We are in the income bracket to receive the full stimulus. I get no information on the IRS site.

Hi,

I'm sorry, but my expertise is limited to Social Security benefits, so I'm simply unable to answer questions about stimulus payments.

Best, Jerry
