How Do You Go About Finding Out Benefit Rates For A Spouse Or Ex-Spouse?

I have read where you advise individuals concerning taking spousal, or survivors, benefits based on their spouses or ex-spouses record.
I wonder how one goes about finding out the benefit amounts that their spouse, or especially an ex-spouse, is eligible for, especially if they planned to use your software to find out their best course of action.
I realized that this information would be available if you could review their “My Social Security” accounts, but many may not have that confidential access.

What Recourses Do I Have If Social Security Mishandled My Claim?

(I have subscribed to you in the past and have followed your advice) A few days after my 66th birthday I applied for SPOUSAL benefits. After waiting for an interview for 2 months, I was told by the SS administrator that I would be approved for SPOUSAL benefits of a certain amount. Yesterday, they approved me for MY benefit amount - more than $300/mo less - but they marked it as spousal benefits. What are my recourses??

Is There A Way To Calculate Which Salary Breakdown Would Be Best For Me And My WIfe?

I have utilized your services before with great profit. New question. In our family business my wife and I split our W-2 income $40,000 and $40,000. We plan to work 5 more years. She is on the border for spousal benefit vs. her own S.S. Is there a way to calculate which would be better for us, split income like we are, allocate $60k to me and $20k to her, or $60k to her and $20k to me? Can I pay for computation of this so I maximize our S.S.

Is There Any Way To Increase My Benefits?

I will be 65 in March 2021. My husband died 2011, he was 55yrs receiving disability benefits. I was getting widows benefits until I became disabled in 2017. I did get an increase in benefits by approx $300.00. I now receive $1217.00 . Is there any way to increase my benefits (my work record is poor) according to my age or any other rules that could apply to me?

Will My Payment Date Change When My SSDI Benefits Convert To Regular Social Security?

I have been receiving SSDI Payments on the 3rd of each month for a few years. In December I will be turning 66 and I'm told my SSDI WILL CONVERT TO REGULAR SOCIAL security automatically. I have e 2 questions. First is will the payment date change from the 3rd of each month to a different day of the month starting in January 2021? Also, do I need to contact the SSA before December to register or something or will my social security benefits just start coming automatically when I turn 66? Thank you!

Any Recommendations For How To Optimize My Portfolio?

I think there is more to deciding when to file for SS income than just the maximum benefit. I need to coordinate SS benefit with regular IRA and Roth IRA withdrawals, and portfolio income (not that big, about $700,000) plus a rental unit that produces about $1,000 per month. I'd like to avoid as much taxes as possible. Any recommendations for how to optimize for the total portfolio?

If My Wife Takes Her Reduced SS Benefits Now Will We Have A Reduction On My Salary?

Hi Larry: I am 64 working making low six figures salary. My wife is 62 retired with a fairly minimum to low salary contribution to SSA for more than the required time to get benefits. I am "planning" to delay my SS benefits well beyond FRA. If my wife takes her reduced SS benefits now, will we have reduction on my salary? She has no salary.
