Can You Explain My Sister And Brother-In-Law Are Getting The Benefit Rates They Receive?

My brother-in-law receives $700 a month from his own social security benefits plus $300 spousal benefit. My sister receives $1000 a month from her own social security benefits. They won't tell me how they accomplished this. Can you explain to me how this is done?

How Long Will It Take Social Security To Correct My Benefit Rate?

My ex-husband died five months ago and since we were married for 14 years I have been collecting on his Social Security retirement. It was incorrectly calculated because they thought I had not paid into Social Security because I worked for the State of California. The offset amount is $300 and although I have been told that this will be corrected, it has been sitting in the "payment center" for over three months. I was told it shouldn't take over 60 days for the correction to be made. How long can I expect this simple correction to take?

Are Social Security Employees Required To Give You Their Full Names?

When a representative of the Social Security administration, be they an employee or contractor, calls you to follow up on a benefit application submitted online are they required to fully identify themselves, that is, both first and last name? If they are only required to give their first name do they have an employee/contractor ID number that can be used to reference them as a source of information?

Why Is The Monthly Benefit Amount On My SS Statement So High?

Why is the monthly benefit amount on my s.s. statement so much higher than the maximum monthly benefit payable, which for 2019 is $2,861? Same for my husband. We make nowhere near the maximum s.s. wages. When we go to apply, will we be in for a rude awakening? According to my statement, if i wait five years until age 70 to collect, my monthly benefit is estimated to be $3,064. Just how accurate are the figures on the s.s. statement?

Can I Continue To Receive My Military And Disability Pay With My Social Security?

First off, why is it so darn hard to get information about social security. I feel like I'm trying to grab a greased-up snake. Anyway, my question is I was born 9 March 1951 so I'm currently 68 years old and some change. I served in the Air force and am receiving a retirement pension. I also am receiving 50% disabilty compensation. when I file (which i plan to do this October. I was going to wait until my 69 year old birthday, but now I'm not) will I be able to continue to receive my military pay, plus my disability pay with my social security?
