When Can I Draw Full Benefits And Still Work All I Want To?

when can i draw full benefits and still work all i want to

Hi,

Starting with the month you reach full retirement age (FRA), you can collect any Social Security benefits to which you're entitled regardless of how much you earn. A person's FRA depends on their year of birth, as explained on the following Social Security website: https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/retirechart.html.

Can I File For Spousal Benefits On My Husband's Record?

Can I file for spousal benefits on my husband’s benefits?
I’m 57, get retired military pension, not working now, don’t plan to work in future. I had planned to start my benefits at 62, then if my husband predecease me, I’d switch to his Benefits, since his benefits will be more then mine. I don’t reach retirement age till 67. I didn’t realize I could claim spousal benefits until I read your site.
My husband is 66, working now, also gets retired veteran pension. He plans to start Social Security pay this May 2020. Thank you for your time & advice.

What Percentage Of My Current Benefits Will My Wife Receive If I Predecease Her?

My wife started receiving reduced SS benefits at age 62. I started receiving SS benefits at age 70. Both of our full retirement ages are 66. What percentage of my current benefits will she receive as survivor benefits if I predecease her?

Hi,

Since your wife has now reached full retirement age (FRA), she'd get at least 100% of your benefit rate as a widow. She wouldn't get that full amount plus her own benefit, though, just the higher of the 2 amounts.

When Can I Draw On My Ex-Husband?

I am have been divorce a few years.I was married for 15yrs.Iam 55 I am on ssi/disability when can I draw on my ex husband ssi.

Hi,

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a needs based benefit administered by Social Security, and it doesn't pay any benefits to family members or divorced spouses of the person receiving SSI.

However, if your ex-spouse is insured for Social Security benefits then you may be able to draw divorced spousal or survivor benefits on his account at some point. As long as your ex-husband is living, you could only qualify . . . Read More

Is Social Security Making Additional Payments Because Of The Pandemic?

Friend told me she received a deposit of $200 in her account and she disable. I guess Social Security doing there part during the pandemic. If the IRS taking to long for the stimulus

Hi,

Congress has not authorized any changes to Social Security benefits in response to COVID-19, so if your friend received a payment of $200 from Social Security it has nothing to do with the current pandemic.

I'm sorry, but I'm only able to answer questions about Social Security benefits. The IRS has established the following website with instructions regarding stimulus payments: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments.

If You Subscribe To The Maxifi Program Is There Any Reason To Subscribe To Your Other Software?

1. If a reader subscribes to your program Maxifi, is there any reason that he or she should also subscribe to your other website, maximize my social security?

2. When calculating income for which social security payments are taxed, what is defined as "income"? Is it simply AGI, or is it 'earned income" eg. W-2 and/or self-employed earnings? Could individuals with enough passive income to exceed the limits for taxes to kick in avoid paying income tax on SS by earning less?

No, you wouldn't need to subscribe to both programs. Maxifi has all . . . Read More

Am I Eligible For Spousal Benefits Between When My Wife Starts Drawing And When My Own Benefits Start?

My wife filed an application for Social Security in February to take effect when she turns 70 in May. Her application is in pending status. I will be 70 in July and am ready to file an application. Am I eligible for spouse's benefits from May, when my wife's benefits begin and July when my own benefits will start. If so, will my Social Security benefit automatically switch from spouse's benefit to my own when I reach 70?

Hi,

Yes, assuming that you haven't already filed for and suspended your benefits and since you were born prior to January 2 1954, . . . Read More
