Hi Larry! I was married for 19 years, but divorced in 2014. If I do not remarry, will I be eligible for my ex-husband's social security benefits at retirement? He remarried in 2015. I was generally a stay-at-home mom prior to the divorce, so I believe his earnings would be much higher than mine cumulatively. Thank you!
My husband if 34 years reach age 63 this year I'm unable to work can I claim spousal benefits even if wedivorced vced
I'm 54 and on disability. My ex husband is about to be 62. Can I collect from his social security? I meet all other requirements
Hi. No. You must be at least age 62 to be able to qualify for divorced spousal benefits on the account of a living ex-spouse. Being disabled makes no difference with regard to divorced spousal benefit eligibility.
I have been married twice for more than 10 years and divorced. My last husband was the largest earner, but he is 10 years younger than me. Can I draw off my first husband and switch to drawing off my last husband when he turns 62? Thanks for the advice!
I filed for SS at age 62. My ex just turned 62 this year. I am told because I filed at age 62 that I am no longer able to file on his now and can only file when he dies. I am real confused. Help would be appreciated. Thank you
Hi Larry, I was married 14 years to a US Army Service Member. We have a child. I now live and work in Germany. I am not a US Citizen, my husband was mostly stationed in Germany during his military career.
I know that he retired from the Military and now works for the US Government as a civilian. His birth of year is 1964, mine is 1962. I worked less than a year in the US so I won´t qualify for my own Social Security in the US.
I have been told that I cannot apply for xmy social security benefits unless and until the disability and spousal benefit issues are resolve. How do I get a letter of verification that I do not and never have received a pension.? I have applied several times but received no reponse. Is ther any other document that will suffice?
Hi I'm 62 years old and divorced and I am collecting SSI because I have cancer and do not work and my ex-husband is 61 years old and I am single so can I collect on my ex-husbands benefits if he isn't 62 years old yet
Hi Larry: I have an unusual situation. I was married for the first time for 30+ years. I am married now but getting a divorce after 20 years. Can I draw from my first husband since my second husband only receives 120.00/month. My first husband draws the maximum and has paid his full year of SS by June. We are both in our 80's. I currently receive 691.00/month which is not enough to do anything on. I have to live with my daughter because I could no longer afford to stay in my home and pay lot rent. I had a manufactured home.
