Do You Have Any Advice For Me?

I am 66 my husband has 56. He is working full-time, and I am thinking of picking up some part-time work. The amount he is earning has put us in a bracket where I will be taxed heavily on the Social Security I have just applied for, as well, my Medicare including the drug supplement part is much higher. We are seriously thinking that divorcing will enable us to keep more of our money out of the hands of the government. I would like to return to work part time but at our current tax rate, it's not even worth it.

Is There Any Way To Find The PIA Needed For Spousal Calculations?

Hi,
I'm currently age 66 yrs 8 months. My wife and I are planning a spousal strategy (using the software) and I need to know my age 66 PIA. The SS website seems to only show my "current benefit", presumably with some delayed credits. Is there a way I can find the PIA needed for the spousal calculations?
Thanks!

Will My Disability Benefits Go Up If I Move To A State With A Higher Cost Of Living?

I received my disability in KY, now I like me in Arizona, my disability is not enough to last me on, I receive $1127.00 a month my house rent is $1100.00, I know that Arizona cost of living is a whole lot more than ky

Hi,

Social Security is a federal program, so your benefit rate won't change if you move to a state with higher living costs. Some states have their own needs based assistance programs, so you may want to look into that possibility.

Is There Any Way For My Wife And I To Get Higher Social Security Benefits?

Dear Larry and friends, thank you for the kind work that you do and help you provide to so many people. From my readings I feel that there may be Hope for my wife and I concerning our fears about our current Social Security Benefits. I applied at age 66 out of necessity, broke and had spent 40 yrs doing non profit charity work with various organizations for only room and board until Donations stopped due to Crash. We all were told that all such activities could no longer be funded and we should all seek other forms of work.

When Should I Get My Award Letter?

Larry,
My FRA of 66 is January 2018. I applied for social security retirement benefits October 2017 to start with my month of FRA. I received a call from SS about a week later and all was well but as of December 30,2017 my application still shows online as processing and I have not yet received and award letter. When should I receive the letter?
Thanks,
Jimmy
