Can I Cancel My SSDI?

Can ! Really cancell my SSDI.?

Hi. No, you can't "cancel" Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits. The only way that you can voluntarily end SSDI entitlement prior to your full retirement age (FRA) is by withdrawing your original application for SSDI benefits. And, you'd only be allowed to withdraw your application if you repay any and all of the benefits you received as a result of applying for benefits.

Would This Count As An Unsuccessful Work Attempt?

I have a question about unsuccessful work attempts. If I person was out of work for over a year, attempted to return to work at below SGA level for a three months, and then lost that job due to their impairment, immediately found another part-time job making less than SGA for 4 or 5 months and then tried to increase hours, at the same employer making above SGA, for one month before not being able to handle the workload and dropping down below SGA again the next month, would that count as an UWA?

Will It Affect My Disability Payments If I Deposit A Check For Roof Repair From My Homeowners Insurance?

I receive Social Security and SSI disability I received a insurance claim check from my homeowners insurance to repair my roof from a damage if I deposit a check in my account to pay the roof company would that affect my disability check

Hi. Nothing you do with the insurance payment would affect your Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits, but I'm not sure about your Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI is needs based, so any change in a person's income or resources can affect their SSI payments.

Will Earning Less Than SGA Trigger A TWP?

Will earning less than the sga trigger a twp ? Will it initiate a review of my benefits? Will earnings below sga be reported? If so, do I report them monthly?

Hi. Possibly. In 2022, the monthly substantial gainful activity (SGA) amount for non-blind individuals is $1350, and the monthly trial work period (TWP) amount is $970. Earning more than $970 in a month in 2022 would count as a TWP month assuming that the person hasn't yet completed their 9-month TWP.

Will Owning Rental Properties In An LLC Cause Problems With My Disability Benefits?

I am 61 years old and have been on disability for 2 years. My wife still works full time. Last year my wife and I purchased 4 rental properties. Our accountant set up a LLC for us. For tax purposes I am listed at 99% and my wife 1% on the LLC. All repairs that have been done on the properties have been done by contractors and my wife does the monthly books on the properties. I am concerned if this will affect my benefits when I file my taxes. The LLC was created only to protect our liabilities. Could this be a problem? Thank you,

Am I Likely To Lose My Disability Benefits For Going Over SGA One Time?

Hello, I have somewhat of a complicated situation- hoping someone can help! have completed my twp and am outside the 36 month epe. During this time I never made more than sga, so benefits were never ceased. In January, based on the pay periods worked, I went over SGA by a bit for the first time. Based on paycheck days I was still under. In February the workload was too much and I reduced my hours, and have continued at a reduced pace. Am I likely to lose my benefits permanently for going over one time?
